Meigs is a wing t team that seemed to execute very well against a young Greenback team. Meigs seemed to have a good wingback #4 and they QB seemed to be a good runner. I guantee that meigs is no marion co. If you break down the CCHS Marion film you would see that CCHS played w Marion for most of the game. Take away a few plays in the 1st half CCHS would have made this a very different ball game. Cumberland is gonna stay hungry and will get better every week. It was good for CCHS to play to notch talent and compete w them. We are looking forward to a great week of practice in preparation to face Meigs this week.

After reading what you said "If you break down the CCHS Marion film you would see that CCHS played w Marion for most of the game. Take away a few plays in the 1st half CCHS would have made this a very different ball game", I was under the impression that Cumberland was actually "in" the game with a chance of winning it. BUT, then I looked at the score and see that Cumberland lost 38-3????? Don't know about what the description of "playing with a team for most of the game" is on the plateau, but down this way getting your butt handed to you 38-3 means that you were more than a "few" plays away from beating them. :thumb:

Maybe you ought to go into selling used cars with a pitch you gave! B)

buc look we were inside the marion 20 5 times and came away with 3 points. not a good stat i realize, but atleast we moved the football. no way meigs comes close to competing with perinnial power Marion Co. we had some great defensive stops. Moved the ball great all 1st half but would small things like a break down in protection or a holding penalty would kill our drives. these are all fixable. we also created 4 turnovers. but your probably right we are gonna lose by more than 21 :thumb:

first off terrible class by meigs.. the way they celebrated after an illegal vicious hit on a defenseless reciever. that was terrible officiating, ok i understand if it wasnt PI but it was definately unneccesary roughness. i guess #24 had to atleast show us he was on the field, since we held him and his offense to -4 total yards in the first half. im sure meigs underestimated us but ive tried telling everyone this isnt the same ole jets team of years past. im sure we'll make a few more believers throughout the season. good luck for the rest of the season

:blink::);)

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
