highdaddy
Hey fans, I am scouting for a new p.a. announcer for a NCAA Division I school in Middle Tennessee. I don't want to take them away from your high school. I just want to be able to offer them more work on Thursdays and Saturdays this winter during basketball season. Who is THE BEST p.a. announcer you've heard in Middle Tennessee at football or basketball games? Please don't be a homer and vote for your favorite high school guy unless they ARE the best. Give me some names. Thanks for your help. The Scout

lavergneguy44
There is a guy named Steve that has been doing the PA @ the Lavergne and mid state games that is awesome, knows football, funy and keeps crowd hopping.
Stat_pack1
I don't know his name, but the gentleman that does MTP keeps everyone involved in the game. Does an excellent job. Works all the fans from both teams.

Crutchfield isn't it? He's an SRO or something at Lavergne Middle during the week or was (?) If he could adjust to a larger stage by not being a homer on the next level, he might be a great pick. He seems very knowledgeable on sports.
lavergneguy44
I think his last name is NOE ? Crutchfield is a teacher at Smyrna now.

powderdog
The guy at MBA is fantastic - doesn't comment or try to be a play-by-play announcer, like most HS guys. Makes his calls AFTER the play, very professional. I'm at a different game every week, and he's the best I've heard.
Eddie
Steve Willard at Ensworth, formerly at MBA. He's not available as he's been the regular PA guy for Austin Peay football and basketball for what -- 25 or 20 years. He's hands-down the best I've ever heard. Worked the NCAA baseball regional at Vandy when Price was a senior, the OVC tournament at Sommett Center and has filled in for the Sounds when his work schedule allowed. He's also the P.A. guy for Vandy football and basketball (men's and women's). He does a great job.
