OMG, somebody snitched on mighty Riverdale. Ha ha, deal with that now. We all know what they have been doing for years, it just hasn't worked lately b/c Murfreesboro is watered down with high schools now.
You are a joker like this devinner person. This reeks of sour grapes, very badly! Look at the way this came out! Reminds me of the broken arrow crap a few years back. Just that crap! :roflolk:

Refer to my post on the Riverdale game thread this week for my opinion on De'Vinner (CERTIFIED LAME, YOU ARE PROBABLY READING THIS SO COME ON OUT AND ATTEMPT TO DEFEND YOURSELF), but rumor is he got caught trying to recruit Marc Gooch to Oakland, so he started snitching on Riverdale for his previous actions there to take the heat off himself and/or Oakland's program.

He was probably getting interrogated like a murder suspect on the TV show First 48, and this was his "Plea Bargain." Take down somebody else to save your own butt.

I think NEITHER school has endorsed or encouraged his recruiting he has done in the past. He should be held responsible for his OWN actions, and own up to them, and acknowledge the real reason he is snitching.

The former UAB football "star" (as he calls himself) needs to go right back where he came from.

If you can pull it up on the dnj site, you will see where the man himself has written comments on the article concerning this. I pulled it up earlier and can't seem to get it to come up anymore. :thumb: I am wondering if it has been deleted. It was getting rather heated. Very interesting stuff. He resorted to some namecalling, using the exact same names as a poster did on here. HMMMm...exactly as I thought. I did think it was sort of funny that Coach A pretty much referred to his role as an adult water boy. :roflolk:

Listen, I was told by a parent in early July about Gooch coming to Oakland.I told that person then, that I would bet my house that wasn't going to happen.I firmly believe that the heat was on him(waterboy Devinner), and he had to deflect attention away from Oakland. Why else is this garbage just now coming out?

before we all get cranked up here. this guy definately has an ax to grind. oakland parted was with him last week when this was brought to their attention.

Exactly what I wanted to hear...Hope the door hit him on the way out! I also hope next time he tries to host another "celebrity basketball game" that nobody lends him their venue...get this guy out of Murfreesboro. Although I'd like to see him again just to tell him what I think about him.

Also he has been known to do some of his recruiting at Patterson Park in the Boro. I hope they don't let him back in that place either!

The best part about this all...He was expecting to get a pat on the back from the HS football community, a insecure guy trying to feel good about himself. It looks like everyone here is unanimously against him. BACKFIRE! I have no doubt he has already looked at this very thread and will read this comment...so come on out and defend yourself, Byron.

Wow, there are some really uninformed people in here making arses of themselves in this thread.

I'm not sure which is worse: The way some of you guys are trashing a person (De'Vinner) that you really know nothing about, or the way Ron Aydelott and Tom Nolan bald-faced lied in the DNJ this morning.

I'm not going to comment on the facts at hand because it isn't my place to do so, and I trust that the facts will come out from the appropriate people at the appropriate time. But trust me when I say you guys shouldn't be writing De'Vinner off as a "sour-grape waterboy."

I dont believe this for a second. This just reeks of ego. There may not be a guy who does things more by the book than Coach A, . It just so happens that these supposed allegiations coincide with the end of DeVinner's association with Riverdale, or however that you want to put it. I have not exactly kept up with who Mr. DeVinner associates himself with, but it is obvious that any program associating themselves with this man will become a target in this inquiry as well.

I would like to see the charges, in detail, brought against Riverdale. DeVinner is a pretty gullible fella if it took him 3 years to put together kids he was talking to and their skill level as it pertains to the football field, and obviously, he isnt very good at his job, given Riverdale's slow decline from 2006 to 2008.

I obviously do not go to bat for Riverdale too often, but unless these allegations are proved to be true, Ill never belief that Coach A and his staff willingly made a deliberate attempt to recruit kids for the sole purpose of the success for their program.

I hate to tell you, but he is now associated with Oakland football. This whole story just stinks of sour grapes and egos gone wild.

I know he is associated with Oakland Football, and hopefully they will be rid of him pretty soon

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
