WannaBeReferee
Anybody else remember this game being billed at "Battle of the North and South" besides me? What was once a huge rivalry between the Forrest Rockets and the Cornersville Bulldogs (North and South Marshall Co.) has fallen by the wayside over the past few years. But it fires up next week in Cornersville. What happened to the "traveling trophy"? Anybody know where it is? Anyway, what are the opinions about the game? My opinion is:GO ROCKETS!! The traveling trophey? Its actually gonna be at the game, they actually have a picture of it in the marshall county tribune today (sept 25), thank god they are bringing this back along with the rivalry between the two schools. I went to both schools and I have experienced it from both sides. I think it is a good thing for both schools, it kinda gets that passion back into the game, knowing there is a trophy and county braggin rights on the line. They say Forrest has had the trophy for the last 13 years. Since 1984 Forrest has an 18-3 advantage in the series if anyone is interested, just another reason I want to see the Dawgs win this one! Isn't that what everyone is playing for the Gold Ball? Just kidding I know that the players play because they love the game
sb38devils
Good luck to all of my friends from Forrest I have to admit that I don't know much about Cornersville so I won't predict an outcome except a wet field. Everyone be safe and injury free tonight.
Dawgpride09
The DAWGS need to bring bragging rights back where they belong! The SOUTH end of Marshall Co! Should be a good game but i'm picking my team in a nail biter, but they must limit turnovers and dumb penalties. They get that aspect in tact should be a huge W! momofblue
GO ROCKETS!!! We need to bring the bragging rights and trophy back to the north end of the county where it belongs and has been for years. Thanks sb38devils, good luck to Jo Byrns as well, miss seeing and talking with the good people from Cedar Hill.
Dawgpride09
The only reason that trophy is in the north side is because yall wouldn't play the dawgs three years ago in the bowl game in murfreesboro. I think it was three years ago??
WannaBeReferee
This is actually cool, the biggest game in the county does not include the marshall county tigers this time, I'm really glad they got this rivalry going again, just think of the revenue that it generates, which is good, for both schools. Has anyone ever thought about playing this game as a homecoming, with the home team that year?

It has not been near as much fun on the threads now that we are in district 10. I would have rather have been in District 9 even with the travel. We went to Cascade and that team in KY was forever away so I don't really see that we travelled that much less than last year actually. Stay dry tonight. rocketman1
doesnt the other team have to win ever once in awhile, like in the last decade, to be considered a rivalry?
