Covington/Jackson Southside

Covington loses a tough one 20-14 in overtime. Southside scored on 2 long plays (one in first half and then answered a Covington td with a kickoff return for a td). Covington came out at halftime and dominated statistically with 2 long scoring drives for touchdowns. Covington is starting to find an offense that ever so slightly resembled the strong running attack they used to be known for. But they still do not have anything resembling a passing attack. Overall, despite the loss, the Chargers look like they are starting to come together as a football team. Congrats to Southside for hanging in for the win.

Keep it up Chargers. You looked similar to the Covington of old against Ripley and you played tough against a good South Side team this week. I saw the backfield against Ripley last week. Burton and Williams will be solid and you have a good fullback with another good one in Nick Terry coming up. Keep working. The best is yet to come for you Chargers!
