Careful before you rename our field. Show me a field that has been used in the past few weeks that isn't a marsh. (Please don't mention MBA)

Great game under less than desirable conditions, a wet field with a falling midst. No excuses here. DL did what they had to do at the end of the game. Congratulations. Still proud of the Lions.

Granted, rhe conditions were less than ideal.....but on the other hand, finally we play some footbball in weather that felt like football weather: fleece, rain jacket, everybody sitting tight up against your neighbor, thermos of hot chocolate by my feet. Our schools have been quintessential high school rivals in basketball for years, so it was great to finally take this rivalry to the football field. Love the stadium by the way.....and loved the ending. two good football squads duking it out with the outcome decided in the waning seconds. Really was impressed with how the young men from CPA handled such a heartbreaking loss. That shows several things. Very good coaching and those boys mothers rasied them right, but the biggest thing is that the Christian part of their school name showed through their ability to keep this loss in perspective. The part that impressed me the very most.....was what happened on the field after the game. Total class. I predict great things for these young men. On the field and off.

All thing considered the CPA field could be a lot worse. I think this is their third varsity game on that field in rain. Who knows about JV or younger games. Did you not see the Maplewood game on TV? At Lipscomb, we have had lucky timing on having to play rain games. Only one game with somewhat wet conditions.

CPA people, who is recruiting the Fisher kid. Very impressive at safety and will hit you. He takes great angles to the ball and always seems to be in position. If his speed is 4.4 or 4.5 he could be recruited by the big guys. It was hard to tell his actual speed under those conditions.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
