What's the rule on chop blocking in highschool?

 

You can cut a lineman right as the ball is snapped. You cannot drop back and cut a lineman, and you can never cut a linebacker running through.

Thanks oldrebel, I always played outside the tackles or behind the line, so I'm not up on all of that stuff.

 

I had fun watching WB's defensive tackle/nose guard. He looked like a corner lined up on the nose of some big old boys. He played with heart.

We were commenting last night about how quick Maryville's center gets off the ball on a run play. Half the time it looks like he is jumping early. It's unreal how quick he is.

You're right. I was so mad about the way WB was cutting some of our guys I posted w/o really reading. Your chop block description is right.

 

I think WB's OL coach took too many hits to the head as a tackling dummy in college to know the rules.

Well good points oldrebel..Butt whut eye don't like iz havin' a yung Conrad Dobblur out thair hittin aftur tha whistle play aftur play...Eye jest watched tha Will-Yum Blunt / Lynn Orr City replay frum last weak and hit wuz tha saim thang wif thiz one playur....Evun on punt returns... :roflol:
