This thing (6A) is totally convoluted.....................why bother having a regular season quad schedule?? How is Arlington the top seed in Quad 3??.................and how is their S + S rating so strong?? They played 2 teams with winning records (S + S needs re-tooling).

I really thought that the only teams that would change quads would be the "wild cards".

Some "bone-crushing" first round match-ups

1.) MJ vs Oakland.

2.) Ooltewah vs Farragut

2P man no love for CC? What's the deal, I always have ur back... lol I understand the frustration but what can I say the T$$AA put CCHS in the district they are in and they finished second. Is it fair to Smyrna? No. Oakland should roll.

I am sorry 5a. You are right, I am just frustrated that we have to go to MJ. I am glad for you guys and you know I really like your program and appreciate your support and friendship.

I hate this stupid z plan.

It's not strength of schedule first, it's wins, so winning is the most important thing, not matter how bad the teams are you are beating. I think OHS is traveling to Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and Alaska in 2011 to play the best small schools in their states  So much for cutting down travel. But I bet the rule is changed by then

ii hate it too butwhat can i say... i know one very well respected coach in the mid-state who thinks that they will change it at the end of this season, and he wouldn't say that without a reason to believe it. The playoffs won't be right until they only take the winenr from each region is a automatic bid and let overall record and strength of schedule fill out the rest. i love that CCHS won the games it had to win to get in and I am proud for our boys but...

I would like to say that I got Quad 1 perfect, Quad 2 perfect except for McGavock/Indy, but all seeding right, then I would claim I still got Quad 3 and 4 right except for McGavock/Indy, but oh well.

You did a great job - Joe Lunardi would be proud!!!!

Could be worse I suppose.....could be 3A....TSSAA is going to have to redo one of the quads or do some explaining.......

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
