CHAMPDDS
Not much time left to discuss, but a couple of things I have noted from Greeneville: 1) The only ND/Greeneville mutual opponent is CCS and Bearden, and Greeneville tied CCS in the Cleveland tourney 0-0 (I believe the weather was pretty crappy that weekend though)...ND had defeated CCS all three times they have met this season...Both lost pretty handily to Bearden... 2) Greeneville is one of the top leaders in the forum (if not the winner, I lost track): "Who will win the "Biggest Score Spread' this season ?? ", with their 18-0 win over Cumberland Gap... Any thoughts on the Greene Devils ? D
BigG
Both teams are strong. ND has a longer tradition in the state tournament, but Greeneville has been battling it out in AAA for all of these years. I think this could be one of the top games in the tournament. hamlet7478
Agreed on this being a very interesting matchup. Both teams play HARD! Hope there's a good center ref to keep the game fast but controlled. Good luck to both!
soccer67
Greeneville's team is mostly Juniors (3 Seniors on the team -1 is a starter) who played extensively last year in AAA competition so they are seasoned. Also they have been playing together on the club team for several years. They are also carrying with them the hopes of all those previous AAA Greeneville teams which seemed get just so close to getting to States only to lose a close one to Bearden, Farragut or OR in Sectionals. They are on a mission. It should be a very good game. Good luck to both teams.
duckordie
Agreed it will be one of the best games of the tourn. (although that DB v B'wood game really started things off with a bang). I would love for Greeneville to move on but I just don't see them getting past ND. ND is simply the better team.
Rabble Rouser
Could be an interesting game. Neither has given up much defensively. Greenville Playoff run Cosby w 8-0 (I'm assuming this one district since it was played Oct. 19) University School District finals W 9-0 Elizabethton Region Semis W 7-1 Chuckey-Doak 1-0 University School Regional Finals W 8-0 Pigeon Forge Sectional W 5-0 Page N Chattanooga Christian W 2-0 40 GS - 1 GA Notre Dame playoff run Sequatchie Co. CHAMPDDS
RR: And remember, the Chuckey-Doak was a forfeit (1-0 listed), and they beat them easily in the regular season, so they spread would likely have been more.. D Obviously they don't play with Saran wrap over the nets like ND does on occasion. They can fill it up it looks like. See you there. Coniglio
A defensive battle, with the midfields really going at it. One mistake, or spectacular play in the final 1/3 of the field will translate into the only goal of the game.
ChattanoogaCannon
I agree with Big G that this should be the game of the tournament. I am really looking forward to watching it. Greeneville's back line looked strong and I know ND's line is strong. Greeneville will need to figure out how to handle bigger midfielders.
