highschoolking
What kind of formation does Beech run out of ? Wing T, Pro Set, Power I, Spread ? Do they pass alot ? What defense do they run ? any information would be helpful
mondo44
Smokestack I, wing T, use a lot of unbalanced line/very unpredicatable/they move their playmakers around/ Sites plays some tight end, some running back/ Haley plays tight end, some running back, Haymer plays fullback in the WingT but tailback in the I. Zinchini is a very good wide receiver, kick returner. They are not that big and don't really impress you in the warmups but when the game starts they are excellent fundamentally and they will hit you all night. They make plays when they have to and they are pretty good on both lines of scrimmage. Neal at QB has made great strides this year and is very dependable. They had 375 yards rushing last night and 73 passing. Haymer had 185, Sites had 106, Walker 73. Offensively nobody has stopped them in a while. I expect a shootout with Mitchell next week. Beech can win if they possess the ball, get a lead and frustrate Mitchell. Mitchell has more athletes but Beech has faced that almost every week this year. And what number is the back who gets the most carries ?
mondo44
Smokestack is 3 backs right behind the QB in an I formation. They sometimes use their best lineman Wesley Aiello as the lead blocker in the I. Haymer is 21, Haley is 12, Sites is 24.

Beech is not extremely fast but very quick. Big difference. They are also technically sound and mondo44 hit nail on the head, they are very fundamental and don't miss tackles. If they get ahold of you, you are going down. Blocking is excellent! Best Beech team that I have personally seen.

mondo44
50 defense, very quick/ Aiello is a very good defensive lineman and Sites might be the best linebacker I saw all year. Zinchini is the leader in the secondary. They don't look impressive physically but every time you run a play they run to the football like nobody else I saw this year. Not a burner, but has a nice burst when the hole opens up. He would have more yardage this year if not for some injuries early.
