JodyJoe
They were the only team in Memphis besides MUS to go undefeated, but they're already facing teams they wouldn't have to had played until the Semis, which is probably a tougher gauntlet to run through. Never the less Arlington wasn't the best team in Memphis, but they were still a good team. One incident doesn't mean they have a history good sir. Mitchell has alot more than just speed including key factors like GOOD coaching, Size, Balance(underlooked quality), Experience and so on. They're not the average Memphis team and have in my opinion the best playmaker in the state.
mondo44
I have seen both Mitchell and Beech play in the last 12 months. Beech 3 times, Mitchell in the state title game last year against Catholic. A few observations: 1. On offense Mitchell went 4 wide most of the game against Catholic and had a lot of success with Gibson running between the tackles (he had over 100 yards). Catholic chose to play 6 DB's a lot of the game. Against Mitchell it is pick your poison, I think Beech will change it up a lot. Run blitz some and drop everybody off some. I thought Cole got impatient in the final minutes of the Catholic game and that is when the QB threw the big interception. 2. On defense Catholic lined and got very physical with Mitchell running right at them. They did hit them with the play action pass for the 1st touchdown when Mitchell fell asleep in the secondary. 3. On offense Beech runs about a hundred different plays from a hundred different formations. On defense Mitchell will have to be patient because Beech will first down you to death and then hit you with the big one. I predict they will throw long within their first 5 plays to either Sites or Haley. 4. Beech's typical game is to score first and then dictate the tempo of the game from there. 5. If I am Beech I cover Malone coming out of the locker room and do not allow him to beat me. I am going to make Mitchell beat me on the ground or throwing to someone else. 6. The game will be decided on who gets ahead early, whether Cole can stay patient and can Beech whip Mitchell up front.
IHOP777
I think most people will be very surprised with Beech. They look mediocre at best on paper. And when you see them warming up you will doubt their chances to win against anybody. They have more heart than i have ever seen in a team and will fight for every inch they can get. They love to be the underdog. Mitchell is great football team with a very explosive offense. The key for Beech in this game will be to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. If they want to win this one they will have have 5 to 7 minute drives consistently and just wear down mitchell. But if mitchell strikes early and often then it would be difficult for Beech to play from behind. That is not their strong suit. This game could go either way. I give it to whichever team wins the battle up front
optfb
This situation reminds me of another time a team from Memphis brought the 'greatest show on turf' to the hill. 1995 seems like a long time ago, but I was there when Mem. Westwood came in and all we heard was how the Bucs had no chance at all. To make a long story short, Bucs won and Mem. Westwood spent one hour trying to get off the field to their busses, getting through the few fans they brought to Shackle Island. Their own fans where belittling them for getting hammered by the Bucs. Now I know that none of that is relevant now, but it just goes to show that you do not underestimate the Bucs, especially when they are playing on the Hill. Best of luck Coach Crabtree and the BHS Bucs.
Golddust281
Beech fans might want to bring their hard hats to the game... Mitchell players have a history of slinging helmets and trying to start fights on the field after losing in the playoffs. Golddust, you don't know your mouth from your azz. Did I say something that wasn't true?

eers
Not sure why everyone seems to think Beech has no athletes. There are several athletes on this team. Undoubtably there are no players that standout due to overwhelming size, however there are several very strong and pretty fast players on this team (of mostly underclassmen). Not a team with a player that will wow you with size or speed, but a very solid and "athletic" team that I believe will match-up well with Mitchell. Perhaps not with every Mitchell player (individually), but as a team I believe Mitchell will be surprised.
