Potential Match-Ups for the 2009-2010 Season

I was looking at the ranking for Division I and Division II and noticed that there are some really good potential match-ups this season. Depends on whether kids stay where they are or shift up or down a weight class.

Any thoughts on any potential match-ups this season??

It is early, but here are some of my picks for good match ups. A lot of these kids will see each other long before the traditionals

119 - Nick Maxwell (Karns), Grayson Mullin (ND) and Ethan Hames (Bradley)

 

130 - Campbell Lewis (SD) (if healthy) and Marvin Lopez (Cleveland)

 

135 - Aaron Lopez (Cleveland), Torbo Smith (SD) and Trevor Herron (Bradley)

 

145 - Jermey Miller (Greenback) and Jonathon Taylor (SD)

 

152 - Chris Aguilar (Bradley) and McCoy Newberry (Ind)

 

171 - Joe Proctor (Cookeville) and Cody Davis (Piegon Forge)

 

189 -Michael Kennedy (Blackman) and John Salada (Cookeville)

But before you jump to any conclusions, these are just good match ups for this season. I am not saying any of these people on this list are going to be state champions (yet). Still very early.

Maxwell will be 112 by Christmas. Thomas stomped a mudhole in Maxwell last time in the finals at Father Ryan last year. Nick looks to get revenge on the Fargo All-American.

Don't think you will see the Mosley vs Calloway match-up. Calloway is shooting to make it to 119 based on what I have been told but Mosley has already been wrestling at 112 and I don't see him going up. Of course, Calloway is currently at 125 so we will have to see if he does indeed move to 119.

I would have liked for CJ to come in at 112 this season. However, that growth spurt he had sealed the deal on that. So, it's highly unlikely that we will see face off with Carlos vs Cole this season.

as for as 103:"tullahoma kid vs.Oliver is real close but oliver won has last 2 times or more, Oliver vs. Langford were at cleveland middle together and Langford was more dominant( he is good size). Climer is a junior that gets to practice with state champions every day at Bradley and he is a big 103, ?climer vs.Langford? probably a great match but Langford because of athleticism, Tulahoma kid vs. Langford - Langford, Climer vs. Tulahoma-climer he's to big, oliver vs. climer( good question)-oliver seasoned vetern that wins 1) Langford 2)Oliver 3)Climer 4)Brunner - my boy is an 8th grader that has wrestled all but climer and that' my picks - I could be wrong and we will seeeeeee!!!

Clarksville High visits Independence tomorrow night (Thur Dec 10th). There could be a huge match-up at 145. Lets see if that match happens.
