Blackman beat Clarkrange 50-39. It was another great game to watch.

FRA beat Tennessee 40-32. They Play Blackman this evening. Blackman has many tools and should be the favorite. But don't count FRA out. They are scrappy and play excellent defense. Still a young team with only one senior, they will be good for the next few years.

 

It is fun to watch them. Their #5 player, Erin Ford, is a normal 4 but with injuries and sickness is playing a 5. She is undersized (5'9") but amazingly holds her own against much bigger players. Tough lady. Derica Wyatt continues to be hot. Great young freshman player. Should be a D1 prospect at the best schools.

 

The tournament has been a good one. Blackman will compete for the DI AAA state title, FRA for DII A, Clarkrange for DI A. Lewis County and Moore County will also go far in their categories.

 

Thanks for all you who came out to the games. It is great to see the fans follow the teams across the state. Best of luck to all the teams as conference play gets into full swing.

36 of 46 freethrows according to the stats. I figured it is just a miskeyed number above. Somewhere near the end of the third it was 7 fouls to 2. Tennessee has great freethrow shooters. The game could have had a really different outcome, as much because of turnovers by MC and missed shot as by anything. Good experience for MC. Today's game against Lewis County at 3:00 should be a good one as well. If MC can get consistent shooting, their defense will take care of the other end.

Congrats to FRA on winning the Tournament. Comgrats to FRA on attracting a group of schools that made the Tournament good to watch. FRA over the years has been well coached and has a history of playing big games well. Blackman again played the game close to the end.

Hats off to Shelby Campbell from Blackman. Even tho Blackman lost at buzzer....this kid can play and scored her 1000th point of her high school career tonight. Dang, she is just excellent.

 

Tennessee beat Clarkrange on a buzzer beater after trailing the entire game. Tough loss for Clarkrange but another absolutely great game.
