Just heard that all wrestling for Ryan invitational will take place on Saturday only due to weather/travel for out of town teams.

Are there brackets out yet?

I don't think seeding meeting was scheduled until tomorrow afternoon. Not sure when it will be now. I wouldn't hold your breath non brackets.

From Father Ryan website.....

News and Events

School Closed - Friday, January 8

Posted 01/07/2010 09:55PM

The Administration has decided to close school for Friday, January 8 due to inclement weather. There are many factors that go into this decision, but none is more important than the safety and security of our students and faculty.......

This closure means that we will have NO extracurricular activities on campus for Friday, January 8. This includes the Father Ryan Wrestling Invitational. Our coaches and athletic department have planned for this event, and the wrestling tournament will take place now as a one-day event on Saturday, January 9.

Question?

I was told that the boys were scheduled to receive an extra pound

due to matches wrestled on Thursday. With the tournament switching

to a one day format, and no matches wrestled on Friday, will they still

receive the extra pound allowance?

I seem to remember there being something about a pound being allowed when school was canceled in the weight management system but it has been a long time since I looked at the paperwork for that thing (since I was coaching HS).

I would try and contact the tournament director for the final word.

I'm pretty sure it's in the rule book, if school is out the day before a competition due to incliment weather, there is a 1 pound allowance.

Any chance on seeing some brackets tonight?

Brackets would probably be too hard. It could all change

after weigh ins? I could see maybe seeding information????
