I'm hearing coach Carter is walking around during workouts getting a feel for things learning who's who. Its good to see ALL the coaching staff back (for possibility the time being) and "hope" to see Ralph Nelson come on board.

Speaking on the "new", the students this week voted on what design they want on the new artificial turf. Kinda cool . . .

Anyword on the winner. After seeing some of the possibilities, I'm kind of curious as how it's going to look.

How is everyone liking the new coach?

I'm hearing that kids are coming out of the wood work at Science Hill with the arrival of the new coach. We will see how many stay out after Carter's boot camp. From what I hear it will be tough!

Looking forward to it :thumb:

Well that will be the question. How many like his coaching style enough to stay with the program?

Well, the norm for the beginning of the season is usually around 80-85 kids. So if 100 kids come out and 50% can't cut it, then that will be ok. You just want the kids that really want it and work hard to stay.

    • You wanna talk about zoned for Bearden.  Lol.  I don't think so.  But my point was who can blame a kid for not wanting to be in a private school.  Nobody is zoned for a private school, it's a free country right?
    • Great win for the Pirates. State Tourney bound !
    • You're talking about the running back, right? I don’t believe he was zoned for west, but there were numerous players that came from TKA a few years ago and still are. I’m sure some are, but the majority aren’t.
    • Gratitude abounds for Blake Satterfield, whose five-year tenure as the head coach and exemplary ambassador for Trousdale County and its educational system has left an indelible mark. His strategic leadership during playoff seasons was nothing short of remarkable. Anticipating that his future endeavors will be equally impressive.  Perhaps the board members will refrain from undermining the incoming coach as they did in Blake's case.
    • Yeah that's true, I was talking more about football.  If you go to a TKA game, there's nobody there.  The only people there are the parents of cheer and parents of players.    The kid that left and came to West was zoned for West and decided to quit private and go public school.  He won two state championships at West, so hard to blame him there.
