Looks like Hampton is rising to the top in district1 after knocking off Cloudland , and Cosby is definately the top dog in district 2 how does the region look to pan out?

My picks would be

1. Cosby - playing really good right now , beat a solid PF team last night and has yet to even be contested by a 1A school other than the close win at Washburn.

2. Hampton - beat a very solid Cloudland team and looks to be hitting their stride.

3. Cloudland - Havent seen them play but their record and word around says their better than most.

4. Washburn/ Unaka - don't let records fool you these two can play!

1. Hampton

2. Cloudland

3. Cosby

4. University High

5. North Greene

that wud be my top 5 right now, i cant put Unaka at 5 when NG beat them twice, Hampton has to be first till someone proves otherwise, Cloudland looks tough and are always hard to beat in the tournament so they get #2, not seen cosby but what ive heard ill give them a 3 close behind cloudland and UH has the potential to make a run.

Maybe N.G deserves the vote over the Rangers , I have just noticed they have lost several close games to fairly good teams. I'm telling you Washburn aint bad either. They have a great player in the post with several good role players around them , they might surprise somebody in post season play.

i agree, but i cant take two wins away from NG so ill have put them ahead of them for now, and i havent got to see Washburn but i think them and Unaka could come up and surprise teams in the tournament, i think my freshman year Cloudland had like 4 wins going into district and made it to state so never say it cant happen.

  • 2 weeks later...

unaka got beat by hampton 2nite pretty soundly, hampton is flat out tough this year, i still havent seen cosby but every1 ive seen in the region so far hampton is just on a different level right now, i dont think they cant be upset but right now there playing good ball. my top five hasnt changed but i still think unaka and washburn could surprise someone in their tournaments.

    • Wouldn't the easiest move be to move McCall up to HS Principal and have Gulley take over as MS Principal?
    • Bounder, you are correct. And it is so easy today. As a civilian today, I can check my 6th grade grandson’s grades in real time. 46 years ago as a young head coach, I knew who were my weak students and would do a weekly check. A decade and 1/2 later as an administrator, I would ask guidance for attendance, and grade reports as I did my own discipline reports. 5 years later I could run all those reports in a few minutes. today Text one the Secretaries and they can create a red flag report only printing the names with D’s and F’s or attendance and discipline issues. You are not even dealing with a whole team. The only problem with modern technology is someone who might not want to know.
    • No I didn't,  I just know jellico lost a few and should in playoffs tho....but they have alot coming in the next few yrs
    • The buck stops with the head coach, he should have know if any of his players  were not making the required grades. Either he has someone checking weekly before games and reporting to him or he should do it himself.
