Hope they get to face each other again in district tourney. Hopefully for championship. Don't think back to back nights against AE and Fulton helped GP. Would like to see them play on neutral court.

I'd like to see that too... with fair officiating. Those Smoky mountain refs seem to let them play too physical and make too many inconsistent calls. Which ever court they play on...I just hope we can keep the GP women happy. We had sailors blushing listening to some of the screaming F-bombs and other descriptive adjectives. Coach Wright himself asked the district tournament coordinators if they would have some of the local churches volunteer to provide child care for some of the tiny sports fans that had their verbal horizons broadened. In this day and age, children are going to hear that language at school, on the TV, or even at hilltop family reunions... but to hear it from mad mamas and visiting head coaches is a little shocking... even for adults.

Centerpoint Church on Broadway along with the great people of Emerald Youth Foundation have ordered "WWJS" bracelets (What Would Jesus Shout) to hand out in case we get to play GP in the tournament. They will be fashionably green and gold so that the passionate fans of Gatlinburg can wear them to all GP sporting events. The other WWJS slogan (Where Would Jesus Spit) will also be printed on the side of a complementary souvenir plastic cup. This way people are reminded not to spit on the gym floor in case they lose their temper after another disappointing loss.

All cursing aside, the first two games have been hard fought and exciting to watch. Can't wait for the the next match-up. And

Congratulations to GP's head coach who miraculously came up with a teaching certificate in a quick 3 day period so that he can now stand up to coach his team.

Until we met again.... Go Falcons!

G-P might need some more transfers b 4 they are able 2 handle Fulton. G-P fans, for the most part, are rude and obnoxious. I guess they think because they may have $ that it gives them the right to curse and show their rear ends. Go falcons! It dont matter where they play, G-P Is not near good enough 2 challenge the 2 time defending state champions!

I was at the game Friday. You and photoman need to quit whining & get your facts straight. As far as transfer students I believe Fulton has their share too.

It looks a little more "fishy" when you're the only school in town and a football school at that. TSSAA understands that kids want 2 play 4 a coach and team that has a chance 2 win state every year. G-P has never had much of a program in B-Ball.

So its ok for Fulton and AE. Just looks fishy for GP. Makes a lot of since. You don't have a clue how many students transfer in and out of Sevier Co Schools during any given year. Find something else to whine about.

Luvgolf20 or should I say Mr.Buckner??? Father of Chase Buckner who plays for Union County who also wears #20 and plays golf?? Anyways funny thing is that GP was traditionally a dang good basketball school. Donald Dodgen(he is now at Faragut) coached there and was very successful. Ken Wright had a great run for about 5 to 6 years where he went to several SUbstates and won several District Championships. And lets not forget GP played your Union County faithful last year in the District Championship and has made it to the region tournament the past two years. SO obviously GP is headed in the right direction. And as far as the transfers go kids transfer all the time!

At AE,Fulton,Anderson County,Gibbs,Maryville,Catholic,Bearden, West, Central etc.....

Where you guys messed up in was letting Brian Jessie go!!! You lost Tyler Smith to Anderson County and went from a sub-state team to an average ball club.

If union co. is average what does that make gp? If the Knox. paper was right gp only beat uc by 1 @ gp on a very questionable call with 1 sec. left and then won in overtime at uc. If gp is the second best team in the state then uc must be #3. As 4 smith leaving, that was sour grapes because jessie chose to leave and not face the teams in what is the toughest dist. in the state. It seems like the new coach has done just fine.

What does that make GP....2-0 vs. Union County. I don't think margin of victory figures into the equation in high school. :hungry:
