This is as tough as a district to call. Gibbs vs Carter match-up is a scary one. Fulton is in Championship hands down. Looking at scores Carter struggled with GP and both Union vs GP games were close..

Fulton did indeed defeat AE, but Carter absolutely run GP out of the gym tonight with a 20+ point win....

Simple and plain truth, GP is showing their inexperience at being a ranked program - ever since they hit #2 in the AP poll, they have headed in an awful direction.

 

They have the talent, but can they muster the heart and focus to get back on track in time? It's up to them, but there is no doubt they are in the midst of a life lesson atm.

It is hard to handle success at the level you have experienced this year. Kids will be kids. You guys have a pretty good coach. He will get it turned around. Coach Wright at Sevierville dealt with the same thing. Great article in Moutainpress about one of our players and his turnaround at Sevier County.

 

Good luck to GP in regions. Looks like its Alcoa or Stone Memorial on the road.

Looking at GP's schedule on CoachT it looks to me like GP's easy non-conference schedule is beginning to catch up with them. You don't get better with a talented team by playing Kings Academy, some home school kids, West Greene, hancock Co. etc. Those easy games don't get kids the mental toughness needed at tournament time. That's why a Fulton schedules the Beardens and Faragut's etc. It looks like the tough schedule at the end of the season has GP reeling. They have lost 4 of their last 5 according to CoachT and all of them were to tough competition. Good luck in Region play but your coach should really schedule a few more tough games instead of easy wins if you want to be a player with the elite teams.

It sounds to me like GP threw the game to stay out of Fulton's bracket. If this was true, what a bush league thing to do. Way to represent GP.

nah, all but two of the starters at GP were busted doing something they should not have been doing; they were under suspension.
