Meigs has started off good this season. We've had 4 players to hit homeruns in 3 games. We're playing as a team. Ryan Goines, Dillon McKinney, Spencer Crabtree and Jamie Eden all hit HR's. Congratulations to them and hopefully there's more where that came from. I think the teams will be a little more even this year.

Meigs beat Chattanooga Christian 11-10. It didn't look good going into the 7th inning. Meigs was down 10-6 I think. Bases were loaded with no outs and Meigs came back. Playing Kingston tonight at home at 5.

Sequoyah lost Tuesday 10-2 against Alcoa

 

Sequoyah Won Wed 9-8 against Alcoa in 10 innings

Meigs lost 5-3 to Sequatchie in the Hixson Wildcat Classic.

Sequoah Lost 12-2 to Karns on Thursday and 8-3 to Knox West on Thursday.

Polk went 3-2 in the opening week with wins over Tellico (11-1), Loudon (17-5), and McMinn Co. (9-7). Losses were to Knox Catholic (6-4) and Walker Valley (10-4) both in 5 innings due to time limit.

 

Also got to see McMinn Central and Sweetwater a little in the Playing for a Cure tourney. Both of which were much better than I had expected. Should be a tight race among all 5 teams.

I think this is going to be a great year for this district. I think Polk will be very tough but I think all 5 teams will have a chance to win the district. I have never seen it this balanced! Go Chiefs!
