Maryville-3

TN High-1

 

Good hard fought game. Maryville struggled in the first half but played better in the second half. Maryville had the run of play but no by much. TN High had some great chances that they didn't finish off and Maryille had some great unfinished chances too. Great to see Coach Valente...we always enjoy playing you guys and hope that we can continue the tradition. Good luck to the Vikings the rest of the way.

the Hendersonville vs. Portland game score is correct i personally attended the match, exciting match to watch.

game stayed tied until about 2 min left in the game portland was on a counterattack, and #3 for portland had the speed to beat out two hendersonville defenders. Keeper came out of the box and got chipped. The match was Pretty even first half. Portland had multiple chances to score but could not finish, as well as hendersonville. Second half hendersonville took constant shots but they were off frame, as well as many amazing saves by portland keeper and a few close calls. Portlands defense had a outstanding game as well. It seemed like Hendersonville came into the match thinking it was going to be easy. Portland gave them all they had though and proved to be the victor. Great match good luck to both teams throughout the season

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
