gottaplay
Gibson Co. split with Milan today. They lost to Milan 4-2 in the first game and beat Milan 5-2 with Alex piching. Chelsea Joyce hit a triple and inside the park HR as well. Yep..even tho I think Milan's pitcher, A Williams was still feelin the affects of a collision with Milan's SS a Fuller for a fly ball from the first game..laid both of them out for several minutes. GC hit into the gaps and Milan hit straight to players. GCs centerfielder and SS were impressive. Milan couldn't lay off the change ups that GC pitcher threw and she threw them every pitch. If Milan could have stood up there and waited around prolly couldve walked in the runs needed to win. But proud that GC got a win... Hoping Milan will be focused for rest of season now that those games are over and are getting ready for the district tournament. Thats when it really counts. I am not sure anyone else noticed but the North side of 13 AA is looking really crazy lol Good luck the rest of the way everyone.
GCPioneer
The short stop is only a Sophomore and just started playing that position last week. She's done quite well for it to be her first time playing the position. Despite that loss for Milan, they still have a great team and some great players. I'm sure they'll bounce back and be focused more than before the loss.

AandO
We at Covington just play ball and let our game speak for itself. What you did last year means nothing its what you bring to the field each night. We have had a few bad games and lost to one of the states best pitchers. Pride Pride Charger pride You are right. Every team has a bad game now and then. But you need to schedule some games with some tougher competition in order to be able to compete at state. Your tournament schedule was very weak. Wins against weak teams don't mean much. What!!! Maybe we are not looking at the same schedules. Camden, South Fulton, Milan, Dyersburg, Brighton, Germantown ETC... (all wins by the way). Don't worry AandO, I think for most of the district, we all recognize Covington as the powerhouse; they do it year in and year out. They have some great players and unlike many schools, have an actual softball coach, no disrespect to any of the other coaches in the district. Their coach wasn't someone that coached another sport and just decided to give softball a try like so many. That is not to say Covington can't be beat, but you have to be on your A game to do it thats all.

guru1775
So Dyersburg/Westview today - Hard game to pick because I think Dburg is playing good ball and as I said from the get go, Westview just ain't gonna get it done this year. Milan/Obion - Milan will win Covington/Crockett - Covington will win Final 3 teams - I predict Milan, Crockett, and Covington. Covington has the edge with their pitching but these games can go any direction. It has been a great tournament so far. Great job to Haywood for hosting. Let's get some games in today! sportslover88
Westview beats Milan 9-1 Covington beats Crockett So Westview vs Crockett Co at 5 tomorrow followed by the championship game at 7 with the winner of this game vs Covington. I predict Westview and Covington in the championship! Any other opinions?
guru1775
I'm feeling Crockett. This team has hit the Westview pitchers really well. I'm gonna say Crockett 4 Westview 2 in this one and look for a little revenge from Crockett. Privett will quiet the bats of Westview and send Crockett back to regional berth! Congrats to Covington on making it to the Championship game!!
