183 in 3 days even is way too much. Any kid that throws say 75-100 pitches needs at least 3 days rest to recover properly. If he threw maybe 60-70 on day one then he might could do 30-40 on day 2 or 3 but you're gonna kill his arm if you do more than that. Especially if he's throwing curves a lot.

not if he gets the next few days off. In Japan they dont stress a pitch count. Look at Daisuke Matsuska's interviews about it and he'll say how he would throw 150 one day and three days later go 120. And nobody thought a thing about it. Maybe its just an American mental thing

There is a BIg difference between a professional major league pitchers vs a 14 yr old freshman.

Matsuska's growth plates are fully developed, whereas this Wartburg freshman's growth plates are not.

Matsuska's has a training staff that will take care of his arm after 150 pitches, the Wartburg freshman might put a bag of "sonic" ice on his elbow.

A lot of Japanese pitchers don't throw overtop....less stress on shoulder...more pitches.

You are not comparing apples to apples.

I did some checking and called a couple people I know from Wartburg and Coalfield. They both said the kid threw between 170-180 pitches in a game in the freezing cold Monday night and it didnt end til bout 11:30. He then picthed between 95-105 pitches on a game atht started 530 on Wednesday.

ole tiger wb put ur team out of tournament. could it be u want to cause them some distractions before their region game on monday? If u have a problem with their coach his number is n the phone book give him a call. of course u will have to let everyone know who u are if u do that. Instead of tryin to take down someone elses team u could offer ur expertise to the sb nation. surely they have some room for improvement.
