The dates for the tournament will be March 14, 15 with 3 pool games and single elimination for all teams. (cost $125.00) Teams will have the option of playing two games on Thursday which will give them a 6 game gaurantee. (cost $150.00) You can contact Coach Andy Griffin at school (615) 824-6162. As of 9-27-02 we already have 24 teams that have sent in the entry form and can only except another 12 possible 16. This has been a very good tournament the last several years with several state tournament teams playing in it each year. :o

It is a very good tournament, but the weather always seems to be bad that weekend. Two years ago it was extremely cold and wet, last year was virtually rained out. Maybe this year will be the exception. :D

Year in and year out regardless of weather, this is one of the top tourneys. Pools and bracket play are set up very fairly for all teams involved. I've been to a few of a southeastern city's tourneys where you knew who would win one side of the bracket before pool play even started. Andy and Chick set this up for teams to have equal opportunity to advance. Hospitality is great. We signed up early.

The games on Thursday will start at 3:30-4:00 depending on the number of teams that want to play. We have about 18-20 teams that have already signed up to play on Thursday. This allows teams to have two extra games. They are matched up against a competitive team that is not in there pool.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
