From state semifinalist to rebuilding...I hope the fans stick with the Dragons. They'll get better. Who would have thought the only Dragon score would be by QB Brian Reynolds hitting a field goal...except he's playing for Cumberland University now and his FG was at the half winning $50! It'll be tough at Scott Co. next week...Scott Co. fans complained all season long last year about getting beat at York.

stone dominated the game in the trenches... york has a very young team this year they have 8 seniors only 5 of which are starters... this will be a season of learning for the young dragons... no excuses though york will have to get better and they will as the season goes on... good luck dragons on the rest of the season and be ready next week against the highlanders of scott county !!

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
