Cowbell Game (Giles vs. Lawerence)

The thing about pigeons is that they rarely go away. But if you study their genealogy one will discover a history of inadequate adaptation. In other words they weren't worth nothing then & they for sure aren't worth nothing now. We have to live with them but we don't have to feed them. ;)

If the Burg doesn't add some glitter to the painting the portrait will look the same. If they do what they normally do & Giles does what they do then expect the cowbell to gather a little more dust. In the Cats trophy case.

I seriously doubt the "T" is gonna hang 39 on anybody. I can assure you it won't on the Coach B D :D

This has always been an interesting game. It means nothing in the district and very little towards the playoffs but the winner gets his team and year inscribed on a trophy which in many cases his dads and grandads have their teams on it as well. That should mean something to every player that takes the field. Its more than just braging rights for a year its about school team and family legacy. Focus and work hard Bobcats......Your piece of the legacy is just a hard weeks practice away.

score: giles co-3 lawrence county-a lot.

lc might be coming off a loss but columbia is one of the best teams in the state and has a couple straight awesome players. lets face it cookeville wasnt that great of team like in the past and made a ton of mistakes over and over again. this will be close for maybe the first quarter then i expect the boys over in lawrence county to outlast and out hit the bobcats in this match up. looks to me like this is goin to get to see the cowbells for the first time.

Lets break down Billy Joe Jim Bob here.

score: giles co-3 lawrence county-a lot.

lc might be coming off a loss but columbia is one of the best teams in the state (Yep)and has a couple straight awesome players (Yep). lets face it cookeville wasnt that great of team like in the past and made a ton of mistakes over and over again (indicates Giles County poster cuz all LC folks would have been at the LC-Lions game). this will be close for maybe the first quarter then i expect the boys over in lawrence county to outlast and out hit the bobcats in this match up. looks to me like this is goin to get to see the cowbells (1 bell son, 1 bell) for the first time.

Never seen a OC coached team quit until the final buzzer. You'l need 4 quarters. For sure.

first off, i jus want to make a point. giles co might have one the bell the past few years, but what impact will that have on fridays game? nothing!! giles will probably come in on there high horse with the win last week and there state title last year and there record the past few years against lc ( i honestly dont blame them) .. but they better come ready to battle an not jus expect another w because the boys from lburg are very hungray and very talented.. yes lc got beat last week by columbia.. but columbia is very talented and has d1 talent at more then one position.. lc played a good game but could jus not overcome columbias line and a few forced turnovers. i expect this to be a very good game for the first few plays.. lc is very physical and has one of the best defenses around.. athletes weigh down this senior class.. i predict that the bell will stay at home in the 'burg this year with lc coming out an physically dominating a young giles co team

Your LC boys may be very talented and hungary whatever that is.

What GCHS followers can bet on is the Bobcats have trained harder, worked longer and will be better prepared.

And since the bell has been here the last four years and seven of the last ten, I believe we can all agree its home is :thumb: in Giles County.

worked harder? trained harder? better prepared? since your so intelligent and apparently since youve been in the weight room, the film room, and on the practice field with the lc boys il jus take your word on that and agree with that statement......

Ok lets see. One a bell? There are high horses in Giles County. There is a record in Giles County. Giles is playing weighted down Hungarian seniors. Ok I think I got it. :D

There you go....that didn't take but a few minutes for us to discover something we can agree on.

Wasn't Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies from Hungary....maybe there is a connection

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
