They beat Lipscomb and if the score is correct on their schedule they get beat by Eagleville. What gives?

Missing their 2 best running backs due to injury. Lost their most effective qb in the 1st quarter to an injured chin. Not a threat to throw the ball. Could not get a call from the referees. Bad snap on a punt was the difference, resulted in a safety. Some questionable play calling by the offensive coordinator. Page fumble set up the Eagleville field goal. Page defense played well, offense did not hold up their end.

I went to the game mainly because the Jackets wasn't playing and to check Page's talent. I thought the D was legit for Page. I also thought the Ref missed some calls but that is going to happen. I dont agree with questionable play calling though. I mean the backs in the backfield were not very good. They were very slow. They would break LOS and get run down by lineman. If they had their 2 backs they would have been gone. Just an opinion. What would you have called differently?

I also attended Friday night game Play calling was fine holes were there just no speed to hit the holes. and finished the game with 7 starters injured.down to 3rd sting Qb .They will be fine in a couple of weeks.

Because of the lack of speed in the backfield the 2 play calls that stood out to me were both in the 4th quarter. 1) a reverse on 3rd and about 5, 2)1st down pass play for a quarterback that could not complete a pass to wide open receivers. The backs may have been slow, but Page showed they could pound it.

All of these excuses, give me a break. A 4a team loses to a fair but improving 1a school and you use depth and injuries as an excuse. You just beat David Lipscomb which still gets votes for the top 10 in the state and then you lose to Eagleville. You lost because you were not prepared and ready to play. The team that did not have depth was Eagleville but they still beat you. It was obvious that Page over looked the Eagles.

I never made an excuse but like 1a schools...several 3a schools do not have depth....Page was missing players and the results will be the same if they do not return. You earned the victory......but on the other hand if you were so proud of this 1a school....why didn't you post last week instead of after the game.

If Lockridge plays...it was all over.....of course you remember from last year...BUT we didn't have him...others have to step up....

I knew we were in trouble with too many out......now if you want....maybe we can play again this year

    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
    • Has there been any effort to contact college coaches other than Trevecca?
    • 5star put out and article about the QB competition for Clinton like they have 9 other schools. They listed a QB that was previously on Powell’s roster last year. He was the Frosh that could throw great wearing number 5. He was not mentioned as a transfer.  HC was quoted in getting two running back transfers one being from OR that has been mentioned on these boards as well as another from TKA.  I had heard about these and more transfers. It is impressive that Clinton is able to steal away from the recruiter at Powell.  I wonder if the issue with the principal will change that or open the gates even more.
