Congratulation to the Rebels on a good win. I think Coach Quarles will not be satisfied with the overall execution. We played pretty sloppy at times. Desmond H. looked really good on a couple of receptions. Jacob W. ran hard and made some great blocks. Shawn P. continues to improve each week. Patton R. missed on a couple of passes but ran the offense well. Congrats to Zac S on a 50 yd fieldgoal.

Not sure trash talking GQ is a good idea. I think Coach Quarles was wanting points up until the buzzer. Maybe Coach Russell should show a little more respect.

so i dont know where all you ignorant people get you information but ive never heard brint russell ever say anything negative about George Q. i mean seriously you all talk like your at the heritage practices and coaches meetings. i mean seriously find something better to talk about... like how about losing in another state title game after telling the world you were gonna win it all.

btw i love how 95% of your "high school heros" you talk about on here are all county kids. why dont you talk about how there is zero talent in the city. that for the city schools to win. they have to go else where to find talent. you should seriously send heritage and will b. thank you letters for allowing you to take there players so you can win games. cause lord knows without their kids you wouldnt be doing it.

At 5:48 PM on Friday, September 17, 2010 I was sitting at the intersection of Gary Hensley/Montvale and 321. I was coming down the hill from the Maryville municipal building and was waiting to cross 321. The light turned green and about 4 cars went through the intersection and then the cars in front of me stopped. I heard sirens and rolled down my window to see which direction they were coming from. Both lanes on 321 were full of cars stopped at the red light in both directions. Then I see two motorcycle officers splitting the lane of cars with full lights an sirens on. Then they enter the intersection and block all lanes of traffic. 321 has no shoulder through the City of Maryville and only has a steep curb. The vehicles at the intersection heading west were forced to move left and right to get out of the way of whatever it was coming from the east. Then I see what is causing all of this confusion at the intersection. A couple of Blount County cruisers come through, followed by two Blount County School buses and a box van that said Heritage High School on it. Then there were more Blount County Cruisers following. I pulled out the cell phone and was trying to video the whole debacle, but the password on my phone didn't allow the timely use of this technology.

I'm not sure which statute under the TCA (Tennessee Code Annotated) allows the endangering of the public by escorting a football team through intersections. I know it was not an emergency, even though the emergency vehicles were running with lights and sirens. They might be able to fit it in under a funeral procession, but they didn't have a Cadillac with an amber light and they didn't have the little flags nor did the buses have their lights on.:ph34r:

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
