Karns Wins 2010 Tennessee Tandem

Karns defeated Brentwood to win the Tennessee Tandem last night.

 

Brentwood defeated Karns during pool play, but the Lady Beavers came back to take the title in a hard fought championship match.

 

All in all, the Tandem was two days of some excellent volleyball.

Congratulations to Karns on winning a quality tournament with some of the best teams from around the state! From the Chattanoogan.com article, the field included Brentwood, Riverdale, Oakland, Nashville Christian and Harpeth Hall from Middle Tennessee. Most of the Chattanooga teams were there including Baylor, GPS, Cleveland, Walker Valley, East Ridge, Red Bank, Soddy Daisy, Grace, Boyd Buchanan and Ooltewah. Knoxville teams represented were Karns, Oak Ridge, Farragut, Maryville and Catholic.

 

Does anyone know how the other Knoxville teams did? Which teams made it to gold?

We were watching schools at 2 gyms; at Baylor Farragut actually scared Brentwood as they came close to beating them.

Not sure why- just wild and crazy luck with lots of fun. I think it frustrated B.W. Farragut's team may have lacked a win but they played with such fun. B.W. made several mistakes in a row and Farragut took advantage of it.

 

Brentwood, Riverdale and Karns all split for a 3-way tie nearing the finals.
