I've heard two people in the last week say Antoine will not be eligible to play basketball this year for Ezell. They say it's due to his age. I hope it's not true. Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

By TSSAA rules eligibility now runs for the entire season. If he is eligible to play football he should also be eligible to play basketball or any other sport.

Isn't this the same athlete that got them in some hot water a few years back because he was allowed to compete on HS varsity sports teams while in the 8th grade @ EH? Are you referring to this situation effecting his eligibility?

If that is true, he would not be playing football either. As long as he did not turn 19 before August 1, he is good to go per TSSAA standards. If he is ineligible it has to be for another reason instead of his age.

What is the deal? It sounds like a rival team trying to keep Antoine from playing basketball. Antoine is a player and a great person. He would not be playing if he was not eligible.
