I agree that there are some, but I think most will pull for Hampton. Some of my best friends came from that heated rivalry. I hope them well and root for them except when they play us. I do believe that this one will be tough. Excited to get to see it.

People like you and alot of kids who played for mike will always pull for him and his team. Just not when they are playing each other. I can remember when Happy Valley was one of, if not our biggest rivalry. I see several of Mikes old troops at the Hampton games, they're still fans.

Thanks. He's a good kid...just gotta bring it on every down... know what I mean?!

They ALL do,you can't stand around and hope someone else does it. It might not ever get done or even if it does,it might be too little too late. Its a bunch of individuals playing a TEAM sport. If one individual don't do his job, it hurts the whole team.

This type of game seperates the MEN from the boys.Hope we prove to have men.

I think most cloudland people would want hampton to be good but want cloudland to be better. as long as cloudland beats hampton they are fine with hampton winning all the rest of there games. if cloudland and hampton played the first game of the season and cloudland won it would make it a lot easier to pull for hampton the rest of the year. its like you want your best friend to have nice house and lots of money but you would like for yourself to have a little nicer house and a little more money than they do.

hampton did support cloudland when they went to state and i think a lot of the ones that didnt support hampton years later in the semi's may regret it now. when you are used to being on top its hard to watch others pass you by no matter how close of friends or rivals you are.

Agree....But you must always be ready to do another man's job also! Thats what I try to drive home before every game...Do your job and be ready to back up your teammates. Sometimes others slack off, sometimes they're just outplayed and you must be prepared to make a their play....thats what's its all about...

one more thing i will be at the game and pulling for hampton. always disliked HV.

I'm sure alot of people don't like me pulling for Hampton, but what they don't understand is, if they were in my shoes, they'd do the same thing. I know alot of these Cloudland kids real well and really like um, but if I needed to call someonre for help,it wouldn't be them. My family will always come first.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
