Purple & Gold Standard
Central wins tonight over GC 41-21. Congrats to the Rebels. It was a hard hitting game all night with the referees forgetting where their yellow flags were in the first half. Worst officiating I've seen this year. They were horrible for both teams. On a positive note for GC, Michael Keel rushed for around 210 yards tonight which is a career high for him and a season high for Gibson Co. We travel to Peabody next week to take on the Golden Tide. Nothing would be sweeter than to beat Peabody in their last game ever at Freed Field. Are you sure about that rushing total ??...He had to have done it after it had gotten 35-7 and the Rebs had taken out the starters in the 3rd quarter..OC jumped out 35-0..GC scored on a long TD pass then OC took the starters out on offense and defense...OC got a special teams score on a kick-off return then took out the first team kickoff return team after that.... That was a joke of a crew.... OC didn't play that well offensively..They didn't really take advantage over the middle like they should have...GC was almost daring the Rebels to throw over the middle but they wouldn't do it... Anyway, GC never gave up..They kept fighting till the end..OC has a short turn around..Ripley comes to Troy Thursday night for Senior Night fresh off a win over Crockett County... GCPioneer
He had some yards in the 4th quarter, but he got alot in the first three quarters as well. He was probably punching out about 4-5 yards a pop after his overall number of yards. He kept hitting that left side and getting yards constantly. He had a good night. GCPioneer
Michael keel is only a junior. He has been a great player over his first three years at gc. He has started all three years. Everyone that ran the ball last night was either a junior or below. Markee brown, number 29, is a stud in the making for gibson co. He's only a sophomore and is talented. Gibson co. has a brutal schedule this year and that will change next year. I do agree that our boys played hard until the game was over. Hopefully we can send the seniors out next week by beating peabody in their final game ever at freed field.

Won't you be in the same district (which is very tough)?
GCPioneer
Yea, but everyone of our non region games would be winnable. Also, if we have a significant drop in students to south gibson co. high, we will drop a classification which is what everyone around here is hoping. Its hard for us to compete with a milan, westview, ripley, crockett etc...just way too many athletes for us to compete against.

GCPioneer
Which classification is South Gibson going to play in ?? They will start out in 1A, where they should fare very well with the athletes they have. I expect them to eventually be into 3A and possibly 4A. Medina is booming with people and now that SGCHS is built, people are going to be moving out of Jackson into Medina.
