Can Pirates rebound and make run at another Gold ball?

Old Pirate says the Pirates need to take a game at a time and focus on the mental part of the game. Figure the issues with conditioning could play a key part in their attempt to git back to the big show. Injuries have made depth an issue and with starters banged and bruised some other youngons will be expected to step up.

Well hopefully a few guys sit this one out and not risk being out for next week...They should be fine as long as they come ready to play cause I promise MC will be

Ignorant statement????? How many players have went D1 from South Pittsburg?? 1 player. If the players in 2007 put up the same stats in a school like McCallie or Baylor that they put up while they was here that year you think they would have went to Tennessee State or a D1 school? A D1 school is the answer! Big difference in Tennessee State & D1 buddy. You give me 2 players with the exact same stats. One from South Pittsburg & One from McCallie. Who is Tennessee or Alabama taking? Definately the one at McCallie, and if you try to say different then you are out of your mind. Ignorant. Lol your funny.

Could have fooled me ;)

Maybe you have had that head wacked one too many times and u forget easily

Your first argument was McCallie puts kids at division 1 schools alot more than us and it was false..We have had 5 since 98 and so have McCallie...Count them up and list them...I didn't say that wouldn't get more exposure but they are found if they are good enough was my argument.... Lol so what was yours again?!?

You also claimed Robinson, Witherspoon would have gone D1 and not Tenn State...They were awesome 1A High School football players but were not D1 guys...

Little Venom on this Thursday just for the Kid :)

SP has all their cogs still intact through 3 rounds...Looks like we have re-oiled our Train and are on a one way track to Cookeville... Hopefully those two Mickey Mouse schools on the other side stay healthy through next week.... ;)

And Alabama teams are on their way to Auburn. Georgia teams are on their way to the Georgia Dome. Something is not right.

SP is going to bring home a gold ball!

In the meantime, I'm still trying to figure out how our scouts and recruiters missed the Hale kid. lol

They didn't miss him. The S.P. Police Department picked them up on suspicion as a risk to National Security and they are being held in Gitmo until after the season is over.

They moved from Vandy to MTSU to TTU. :roflol: However, I don't see any difference in playing them at TT than MTSU.

I honestly don't see why Finley doesn't offer...Better city to host in my opinion...Cookeville is pretty small and of all places in TN would be listed well below Knox,Nash,Mboro and Chatt...However I guess TT has more money to throw since Finley makes plenty for D2 playoffs

There was an offer to have it at Finley. From what I understand, Finley/Chattanooga didn't care too much for having it. They would take it for low enough but it doesn't bring in enough money to make it worth dealing with the hassle. That's the reason MTSU didn't really want it anymore.

Chattanooga made a very serious effort to get it. They were highly disappointed when they didn't.

Yeah I would think so as well... To me it's a no brainer and win win for the city of Chattanooga plus it's just as convenient as Cookeville for the rest of the state... It's like sailor said though... It's all about money

If you are from west Tn or close by it would be best to see the game at the 'Boro or at Vandy. They are central and the playoffs are set up that way. If it's us, we'll bring the house but if we bring it over here to UTM in our house how's that??? UTM can handle the croud and parking. Wanna come play in our playhouse??

Lord willing we'll see you in Cookville

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
