rigger101
I only saw 1 grappler ranked from the county. Who else will make some noise at State? Congrats to young Mr.Roberts at Beech. Been showing a lot of heart since he was a freshman wrestling up and learning the hard way. Good Luck! Preseason Ranking! 152 lbs # 5. Jonathan Roberts (Beech) Senior - Hard working kid and will get a state medal his final season.

This weight class is going to have a lot of studs in it dropping from 160 at state. If he does its going to be a tough fight to the top. I think Pigeon Forge is going to surprise a lot of people. They have a pretty strong tournament team. Good Luck to all the wrestlers this tomorrow and this weekend. Pigeon Forge Rules Your right, that is a bold statement this early in the season, but I think it is a valid statement. I've watched Jonathan for 4 years now and I believe this is his year to place. Can he win it all, I don't believe so, not yet. It's a long year, but if he keeps on the same path that he's been on since late last year, I belive he can at least bring home a medal. He's a very quick and aggressive wrestler thats very knowledgable from the top position. He'll face some stiff competition throughout the year, so it should be fun to watch and see if he wants it bad enough.

However i dont see him making 152 this year unless something drastic happens. He is at 171 and doing very well to start the season. Already owns a win over David Hayes of Siegel. Jonathan has really worked hard this off season in weight room and on wrestling mat. If hard work is key to a state medal then he is definatley on right track. Roberts looked very strong and well conditioned against Hayes, he dominated the second period and won by fall in the third.
