Loretto Lady Mustangs visit their neighbors just north of them for the renewed county rival game that did not take place last year. How will the game go? Single A underdogs have a shot or is AAA LC going to be too much? Thoughts? Let's keep it clean and not make dirogatory remarks about each other and or individual persons. Welcome to the T! Lawrece Co is a very good team. As always, Loretta plays hard, but this one could be a tough game for the Lady Mustangs.

I would like to see Loretto pull this one out, but it is highly unlikely. Lawrence County has too much athleticism, speed, and depth for Loretto. I don't think Loretto has an answer for Gilbert inside, and the only one who would be able to physically guard her is Laws (and Loretto's coach won't risk her getting into foul trouble). Loretto will likely zone to contain Gilbert, Clayton, and Hunt inside, as well as try to slow the game down. Lawrence will likely press full-court and fall back into an aggressive man defense in the half-court to speed up the tempo. As heavily favored as Lawrence County is in this game, you know that some emotions will play a part in the outcome, and emotions are hard to account for when predicting outcomes. They are what make rivalry games like this one so unpredictable. With all that said, logic tells me that it will likely be:

 

Lawrence County by 25 (but I am hoping for a good one)

I believe the real question as to the outcome of the game might be who has the best snow shoes. As I remember this is the site of the ice on the floor game one year. This might be another one.

Lawrence County by 19. One factor in the outcome may be fatigue, it will be the Wildcats third game in four days, other wise it could be be 30 or more.

The home game should help the Lady Mustangs, but the soft holiday schedule they played might hurt them. The Lady Cats played a tough holiday schedule and they wont have to worry about playing the night before this time around. Prediction, Lawrence County 68, Loretto 42.
