well FC shot free throws because they would get fouled on shots and then the bonus came later. JC didnt get as many because the FC players werent dumb enough to foul them on the shot. :thumb:

No they fouled the refs just didn't call it. The whole entire team couldn't guard Godwin, the refs let you hang on him slap him punch him with no calls most of the time. You don't have a player on the team that would be a pimple on his you know what but what you did have is 3 guys with striped shirts on to ensure victory. Luke Dycus is a COWARD!

i dont think you have realized yet that no matter how much you try to bash these refs, it doesnt change the fact that you lost. you can cry about it all you want but it will never change the fact that YOU LOST!

An Unusual Occurrence Form involving this game has been sent to the TSSAA Site questioning The officials, policemen, athletic director and the lack of their actions.

Ole Possumtowner heered bout dis game and got a full report. Got me one of dem usual occurence forms Mr Bessy is a talkin bout here. I heered dat some crazy man from Jackson Co wuz a comin after dem fellers in striped shirts and dat der wuz only one cop and dey needed bout 20 to take care of dem Jackson Co folks cryin bout dem refs. Just wondering why if dem refs got paid, why didn dey foul out Jackson Cos best player? Guess dem refs need more money next time.

Teams should be able to overcome bad calls from the officials, however if there is an excessive amount of bad calls in a given game, it can change the momentum enough to cause the better team to lose. Also, time and time again I have watch refs "let em play" in one half and call it tight in the next half. I am just saying that there should be consistency in play calling. Perhaps, if the officials tried hard to be consistant, and didn't make numerous bad calls, then there wouldn't be such an outcry of bad officiating from area fans. I have been to lots of games this season and have seen some well called games, but on the other hand I have also seen the complete oppisite the one last night was not one of those well called games.

Birdwell didn't play due to disciplinary actions from school. I hope he gets it taken care of by Tuesday. Clay had a great 1st quarter. They were selective about their shot taking, and hustled better on defense than I had seen them thus far this season. Score was 11 to 2 at the end of 1. During the 2nd Clay went cold and only scored three points. Woodmore and #2 for Gville started picking up the pace defensively and created sveral turnovers. Gville led at the half 20 to 14 I believe. The 3rd was played out very much like the sencond. In the 4th Clay returned to their good hustling defense that they had in the 1st. Boles had several points in the 4th ending up with 25-30 (I'm not exactly sure his total). Hamilton also scored several points during the contest for Clay. He has developed quite nicely throughout the season. He is taking higher percentage shots now and turing the ball over less.

Hamilton is a very good at getting close and mid-range shots and he is the best rebounder on the team. He's the hardest worker on the floor a lot of nights so it's good to hear he played well. Hope Clay Co. brings their best effort Tuesday night. Can't wait to see those 2 great games.

These will be 2 games anyone who likes basketball should pay to come see.

Clay will have to play great D and not slack off. They need rebounds on both ends of the court. They need a few good steals and fast breaks and they should be able to over come PC this time.

CRange can beat FC as long as they don't let the FC fans get to them. They will have to show up and play hard the whole time with at least 3 players in double figures. Good Luck CRange!

Wow, that really shows how ignorant you folks from FCS really are. The man escorted from the gym stopped at the bottom of the bleachers and returned to his seat before your ol' fat headed AD had him escorted out. The reason that Godwin didn't foul out is because after picking up his 4th foul on what should have been a charge call, he didn't go for the steals and blocks he usually gets. JC fans were no more disrespectful than those on the other side of the gym. Yes FCS won, but they were playing with 8 and were still down by one when the best players from FCS (Dycus, Maxwell, and the other) took the game over. Y'all definitely aren't winning this tournament, and will be lucky to even be in the championship game.

Jeeeze guys, heard Wal-Mart had Kleenex on sale . Might want to use a little to wipe away all those tears. If more than one place talks about you having some unsportsman-like red neck parents, it might be the harsh truth. Most JCS fans are like the majority of us , love our kids and the game. Always a few to disgrace the kids and community. Single A gets what it gets in refs, it is what it is. That does not mean that the players deserve the same from a few parents and fans. You had a good run JCS, good hard-nosed team

All FC did was shoot 51 free throws the refs gave to them. They made most of them and we made most of our 18 we were given. That was the only reason FC won

Again I hate to see a grown man cry...get it straight FCS 30-42 and JC 17-21. Say what you want but we hit only 17-28 in the 4th when JC was down 7+ the whole qtr trying to foul to get back in it. You said you were sending the film to TSSAA, need to watch it first!!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
