Dear Mcewen players and fans:

Here are a few things I would like you to know about our town.

1. You have 2 places to eat Sonic and Subway.... stop somewhere before you cross the county line.

2. If you see a red light in our town........ You're in the wrong town.

3. The gym is small but has lots of character......get there early (gate opens at 5).

4. If you are offended to be crawled over, stepped on, kneed in the back, or if you have an issue with personal space you may want to listen on the radio.

5. There is a grocery store that stays open to 9.... if you need a drinky drinky after the game.

6. There is parking in the main lot (north of gym), as well as to the west end of the gym.

7. There are SEVERAL steps to climb to the gym. For those than have trouble please go to the East side of the gym.

8. It will be hot and loud... you may need ear plugs and a fan.

9. Lastly........ Drive safe!!!!

i would add

 

10. if you sit on the visitor side stay on the right side of scorers table if you want to get out very quickly after game only 1 aisle in and it will be clogged for a long time after game

Agreed--here is why.

13. Pregame intorductions for Summertown are spotlighted, so the lights will go out for just a few minutes.

Also, you might want to go ahead and leave the lights off/out because McEwen will shooting that way all game long...

 

As a matter of fact... Go green, save energy, let McEwen put on a shooting clinic in a gym near you...

 

LOL, just some fun, pregame smack...

If S'town shoots anything like they did against Wayne County in game 1 at S'town then it will be lights out for McEwen. If they shoot like they did against Wayne County at Wayne County then it will be lights out for S'town. I'll say since the game is at S'town it will be lights out for McEwen. S'town by 10. Home court wins here.

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
