SpecialTeamer
I think both teams made the playoffs in their respective divisions last year. Should be good test for both squads to open the season. Any thoughts or info for this one?

Boarhog
I'd like to see Coach Loftis and Jackson County win this one, but I don't see it happpening. Sunbright has a good squad, and an pretty dog gone good quarterback. There is no love lost for me when it comes to Sunbright though. Good luck to both teams, but I'm rooting for JC. SpecialTeamer
Sounds like there will be a lot of passes. JC's qb is pretty good, but he lost a heck of a receiver from lastyears team.

No doubt about that Godwin will be sorely missed on this team, you don't replace a kid like that in a small town like Gainesboro but there are others like Ethan Kirby, Hobie Leonard and Blake Bowman that are very capable of helping Goad out in the passing game. Godwin will be missed as much or more on the defensive side of the ball. He basically shut down one side of the field, so its going to be intersting to see how JC does this year. They lost some other very good seniors but the cupboard isn't bare, with Goads return at QB and a little luck i could see them back in the playoffs again! Go Big Blue! I liked the fact that Jackson County made the playoffs last year. It's typically losing team that is on the rise. Same thing goes with the baseball team as well. When I was starting out in baseball, Jackson County was usually a win on our schedule. Even though they had it tough in AA early on, they still would have finished at best 3rd or 4th in A at the time. Monterey still consistantly wins 7a, but you can always count on Jackson County in their competing for the title. Some of the talent that has come through would make any coach want to quit, but Coach King has stuck with it all these years and was rewarded last year, I believe no coach is more deserving. With that said it'll be tough for JC to make it back to the playoffs, because JC, Monterey, Clay County, and Watertown are usually pretty even and when you have powerhouses like Gordonsville, TC, and FCS that you have to play it makes it tough for the average team, like those 4 I named, to make it to the playoffs on a consistant basis. Jackson County has some athletes left to make the run, and it'll be interesting to see those 4 compete with each other this year.

Im pulling for Jackson in this one, but I think Sunbright will be too much for them. I was informed that the QB from Jackson was NOT going to be eligible because of TSSAA Eligibility Regulations with his moving and participation with another program, which I believe was out of state. Heard this from multiple creditable sources. Anyone know the facts of this? Maybe someone from TSSAA can clear this up for us. TC1
