It should be a good game, and a great atmosphere. Stewart County always supports their teams, and CA was out in force Friday night. The complex was jammed.

 

CA played with heart, and played pretty well overall in defeating 4-A Montgomery Central Friday night. However, we had too many penalties, and struggled offensively in the second half. I suspect the coaching staff will correct the mistakes and have the Cougars ready to play a 3-A team.

No, Josh Jerles graduated, and will be playing at Rhodes College. CA still runs the spread, and throws quite a bit, though the jury is still out on how much after only one game. Last year the offense was pretty balanced: the Cougars had almost as many pass attempts as rushes.

It's a game time decision. Very nice gesture by Coach Holliday and Stewart County - his team is wearing pink socks to honor coach Hood's wife, who lost her battle with cancer 2 weeks ago. There is an article previewing the game at The Leaf-Chronicle.

Yep. But the Cougars really played pretty well, especially considering we had a freshman quarterback at the helm. Stewart County looked fundamentally sound. Cody Atkins, and number 7 were really strong backs for the Rebels. We had trouble tackling them in the 4th and in overtime.

 

You should try to let go of it and quit hating on the Cougars reddevilfever. After all, they are just kids playing football. Sheppy has a new gig now, and folks I know around CA want him and the Govs to succeed. His restaurant gets a bunch of business from the Academy folks, and he even advertises at CA. It's all good, so please try to let go of it.
