Don't know much about Siegel other than they play in one of the toughest regions if not the toughest region in TN. Glad the Owls are playing one of those Middle TN teams, the expierence will be good if they make it to playoffs. Siegal fans tell us about your team, strengths and weaknesses and what we can expect to see on Friday. I will give you my take on the Owls.

Offense

Good mixture of run and pass. Has several good backs with #28 being the bruiser up the middle and #5 being the scat back. Need to hold onto the ball better. Passing has been good, although QB tends to telegraph the quick out pass that led to a pick 6. O-Line has been steady with no strength or weakness really sticking on out.

Defense

Strength of the team. Not huge, but fast and are tackling well. Have been getting good pressure from both the middle of the line and the outside. Backfield covers well and is fast. Tackles well after catch. Need to watchout for the stupid off-sides penalties.

Special teams

Kicking game seems fair although we did miss a PAT last week. Coverage team was better, but still not great.

Penalties and turnovers have kept the Owls from putting up big numbers. Clean those things up and they should be able to compete with anyone.

On offense Siegel runs a two QB system. #16 is more of a running QB but he can throw it too. #7 has the "better arm" but he had a long run to set up a score against blakmun. They have stuck with this system and it seems to keep opponents off balanced, thanks to a strong run game led by #21 a young soph RB who scored 5 TDs last week against blakmun, and #22 who runs hard. Big fast receivers who have made a ton of big plays so far this season. Experienced OL, not the biggest you will see though. The offense has been explosive early in wins over Franklin and Lincoln County, but finished strong last week scoring three 4th qtr TDs. The defense has given up a lot of points against some really good teams, but they also seem to play for and make their breaks and rarely make mistakes (good coaching). Should be a good game Friday night. I wish you all had Coach Monroe still on the sidelines though.

Couldn't be more happy for Coach Wyant and the Siegel Stars to start 3-0 with a good opportunity to go 4-0. This would be a huge win for Siegel if they could get the W for positioning themselves to make the playoffs. Siegel's defense needs to keep working to improve because it looks like scoring points will not be a problem.

Definetly need to sure up the defense. Cant continue to give up big points with the remainder of the district waiting. With the exception of Lavergne the remainder of the district will be tough defensively.
