The Battle of West Knoxville renews itself this year as the Bulldogs and Admirals are set for battle at 7:30 on Thursday, the Pilot PrepXtra Game of the Week. Farragut(5-1) comes in to this one off a blowout in over Heritage, while Bearden(4-2) is coming off a huge 40-6 against Maryville. Every year Bearden seems to play one of their best games against Farragut, likely due to the nature of the rivalry. I don't think it will be enough to stop the Admirals offensive attack, and I think Farragut's defense will be able to stop Bearden running attack. I forsee Farragut pulling away late for the win. Who do you think will win?

Rivalry game, anything may happen, but I think the Admirals take care of business and stay on track for a huge game with Maryville.

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
