Well I'm surprised there's not already been a thread for this game. Pearl-Cohn just knocked Maplewood off of their perch, and CPA is undefeated and making noise in the district. Is CPA really that good? How will Maplewood respond to the loss last week to PC?

Pearl, CPA and Maplewood are three very good teams. They are all playing good football at the right time. You hate to meet any of these teams in the playoffs.

I'd take Maplewood to win 34-21 in this one. Their size and athleticism will present problems to what is still a very good Lions team.

As good as Maplewood "may" be (hard to tell so far this year),don't think they will score more than 21 on CPA's defense. Size and athleticism may be advantage Maplewood, but a well schemed, well coached CPA defense will prevent Maplewood from doing some of the things they can usually do. In high school athletics, size and athleticism help but the #1 factor in winning is coaching.

Maplewood has won 4 games they should have won, lost 2 bad that they should have competed better in, and lost to a comparable team in PC. So hard to really know how good they are.

Plus CPA with a healthy Wharton is better than they have showed the last couple of weeks. I'll take CPA 24-21.

Well, I was right about Maplewood's score but a FG short of CPA's. Wish I could have been there. Sounds like a great game, and a comeback for Maplewood. Congrats to MP. Still feel good about CPA's chances in 3A losing to a Top 10 4a team by 4. We need to beat Pearl now to have a chance for home field in the playoffs.
