I would like to know why Vanderbilt don't want to continue with this Rivalry are they worried that it will get like the Tennessee series with Vandy never getting much of a chance to win? I think it is Vanderbilt's loss if they do not keep this series going as close as the two schools are located. I suppose its when they look in the stands and its all Blue & Gray it reminds them of when its all Orange every other year. ;)

If I was the AD or the school president I would want this matchup every year. If I was Coach Johnson, no way.

Vandy as an SEC shool should be able to beat Middle 8 or 9 out of every ten times. But, until they get their program headed that way, these losses to MTSU really hurt.

Vandy has been our first win of the past two seasons. If they never schedule Middle again, how are we ever going to get anything into the win column? ;)

I don't think Vandy would be able to dominate a continued series in an 8 or 9 out of ten fashion, which makes it such an excellent rivalry. I see it as being a toss-up year after year... much like an Oliver Springs/Kingston matchup. Of course Kingston doesn't like getting beat by the runts from the other side of the county, but nothing does a better job of getting people excited about their school's program.

Should the games continue, MT will work hard to make up for all those 51-0, 69-0, 45-0 whippings it received early in the previous century.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
