This one should be a good game. To wet everyone's appetite, here are the highlights from their last meeting...

First Half Highlights

Second Half & Overtime Highlights

Wasn't at this game due to work. And from what i can see there were not too many highlights. From what i here it was riddle with turnovers from both teams. So that adds to the mystery of how these two teams really match up. If the Bulldogs expect to win this one we can't put the ball on the ground like we did in the first meeting. Looks like the weather is going to be decent. Go Dawgs!!!

Smyrna is a very good football team. They are as talented as anyone in the state. I can assure you of that. Franklin is a good playoff team though with a dangerous quarterback so you never know. I'm sure it will be a great atmosphere at Franklin Friday night. If Franklin comes to play defensively and the Quarterback has a good game and they don't turn it over look for a tight game as once before. Also, Smryna is running the football way more effectively than they were earlier in the season.

To all the Bulldogs out there.....don't forget that Franklin was the one that booted Oakland last year in the first round. One game at a time. Rutherford Co needs to advance!

I can assure you that no player, coach, teacher, fan or anyone who can say the name Franklin is looking past this team. The focus is 110% on the Rebels this week.

I'm sure to have high blood pressure after this game... I just hope the Rebs dont go to overtime or im likely to have a heart attack.... no turnovers and offensive production in the red zone is what we need, and for the love of god CHS Team Player and all you other haters start posting some fuel for our fire! Smyrnas fans are too respectable (no disrespect to them, their district is used to high school football greatness)

The focus is most certainly on the rebels. One game at a time now Bulldogs. We were lucky to come out on top the first time we went to Franklin. we had way too many turnovers. If we hold on to the ball this time I like our chances though. :thumb:

Im sure both teams feel as if they hold on to the ball a little better in this game that they will win. The last affair was one of the most physical, hard hitting high school games that I have ever witnessed, which may have had something to do with all those turnovers. Not enough credit being given to either defense for that ball game IMO. Smyrna is a very well coached team that has some outstanding football players and plenty of speed to burn. The Franklin Rebels will have to contain those big play weapons that Smyrna has all over the field to come out on top in this one.Smyrna will have to play disciplined football and limit their mistakes. QB play will be the key for the Bulldogs in this game. Turnovers will also be a key. Whichever teams limits their turnover mistakes I think will come out on top. I would not be surprised to see the winner of this game advance out of this Quad Personally. Im looking forward to attending this game as im sure that many others on this board are anxious to get this one underway already. Is it Friday yet??

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
