Watch out for Whitwell Girls

Sequatchie Co. raced out to a double digit lead against Whitwell tonight and then cruised to a 9 point win. Unlike the last meeting the Lady Indians seemed to score at ease inside. Again the lack of size inside will be the Lady Tigers undoing come tournament time.

I believe you are right Omni. Whitwell's strength has certainly not been offense. Their defense is how they usually win, but when they give up big points early they will have a hard time catching back up. The Indians just outplayed the Tigers Friday. Looking forward to tournament

Does anyone think Whitwell won't win the Region? I say the only teams that could possibly upset them are sale creek (great coaching) Marion County (prolly have the best post in the region but only have one girl that can break the press) Copper Basin- I haven't seen them play but we played them last year couple years at home first rd of region and they always play us tough. And SilverDale has one amazing point guard that can score 30-40 any given night.

Personally I think Whitwell has as good of a chance as any of the other teams you mentioned.

I'm a little more worried about Marion Co. than Sale Creek. The tigers have won by a very small margin every time they played MC this year.... The last Sale Creek game wasn't that close.

I'm just anxious to see how far Coach Z can take these girls.

All you can hope for is a region championship, once the substate team from 7A arrives the partys over :flower:

Unfortunately I haven't got to watch the Tigers in any of their tournament games so far. It seems like they handled themselves well so far judging by the scores. I would really love to make it to the game tonight but doubt I will. I dont think they will have trouble taking the win though. They played Sale Creek a few weeks ago and won by a nice margin.

Assuming the Tigers win again tonight, anyone know who they would play next???

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
