Entering the last series of the district season there is a lot of things yet to be decided for this district. Here are the match-ups for Tuesday and Thursday.

Spring Hill vs. Fairview- The Raiders are playing to keep pace with Marshall Co. and hoping the Tiger slip up against Summit. The Jackets are playing to stay out of the 8 vs. 9 game.

Page vs. East Hickman- Page is looking to jump all the way up to # 3 in the district with a sweep of the winless Eagles of East Hickman and one loss by Summit.

Summit vs. Marshall Co.- Marshall Co. needs to sweep Summit to win the district regular season title and get that coveted Region Berth. Summit can move up to # 3 in the district with a sweep of the Tigers.

Lewis Co. vs. Hickman Co.- This will be an interesting series with a sweep Hickman Co. clinches the # 6 seed in the tournament and that would make Lewis Co. the #8 seed. If Lewis sweeps they are the #6 seed and Hickman would be the #7 seed. If they split it will be determined on who beat the higher seed in the regular season.

Giles Co. is looking at either the #4 or #5 seed. They are playing wait and see this last couple of days.

Good luck to all teams.

The next Lewis and Hickman game will decide probably by the better pitcher. I'm pretty sure Hickman is going to pitch the lefty Hayes. Lewis will pitch their Stud pitcher number 6 Ryan Bell. If he us on his game that day, Hickman will have trouble hitting him. If Hayes is also on that day, it will be a good match up. So far Bell has the best stick on the team with a batting average of .456 for Lewis. Watch out for him in the District Tourny also. Gonna be exciting to see come Thursday night at Lewis county.

Standings

Marshall County 13-2

Spring Hill 13-2

Page 9-6

Giles County 9-7

Summit 8-7

Lewis County 6-9

Hickman County 5-10

Fairview 5-10

East Hickman 0-15

Scenarios for seeding

Marshall Co. wins district with a win or Spring Hill Loss.

Spring Hill wins district with a win and Marshall Co. loss if this doesn't happen they are the # 2 seed.

Page is the # 3 seed unless Summit beats Marshall and Page loses to East.

Giles is the # 4 seed unless Summit beats Marshall then Summit will be the # 4 seed and Giles will be the 5.

Lewis will be the # 6 seed no matter what. If they lose to Hickman tonight both teams will be tied. However it will go to tiebreakers and it would go all the way to how they did against Giles Co. Lewis split and Hickman lost both.

Hickman will be the #7 seed unless Fairview beats Spring Hill and Hickman loses to Lewis.

Fairview will be the #8 seed unless the Hickman Scenario happens.

East Hickman will be the # 9 seed.

Here is the way I see the district tournament setting up

Play In Game

#9 East Hickman @ # 8 Fairview

Pod 1 @ Marshall Co.

#1 Marshall Co vs. Play In Game Winner

#4 Giles Co. vs. # 5 Summit

Pod 2 @ Spring Hill

#2 Spring Hill vs. #7 Hickman Co.

#3 Page vs. #6 Lewis Co.

I have heard people talking about an automatic bid to the regionals for the regular season champion. Do they still have to win their side or finish 2nd , or are they just guaranteed a spot regardless of finish in the district tournament? Just confused , thanks for any insight to this.

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
