I was wondering about the set up. I was very impressed with Monterray's coaches. That's the way to do a scrimmage. Line up and get it on! I hate the 3-way version. Some good kids over that way. Tough, hard hitting, no funny business.

I thought it was a great effort by the Indians. They never waivered. That's pretty much what I wanted to see. Got to keep working hard!

Man, I really think we have not seen the best of Coach May's offense which is scary since the Indians averaged just under 28 points a game last year. I think Cole is gonna get to reap the benifits this year of having to start as a Freshman and Sophomore that past two years.

Looked like TL got more of workout yesterday than the boys. He was running over correcting the WR's, then the QB, then the Linemen. That was awesome :thumb: He is off to a real good start. Got a great teaching film to use this summer.

One final thing. I don't know who punted the ball for Oneida that one time but I wish I had seen him do it a few more! That was as good as any punt I have ever seen in High School.

One last final thing too. I have to talk to TL about this. He watches his defense from behind the offense. That's a very interesting perspective for a DC.

Smash, Monterey did appear to be very well coached. You know their kids have to be tough considering the region they play in. Overall they were very respectful bunch. I agree & hope Coach May unleashes his offense this year cause he definitely is loaded w/the weapons to light up some scoreboards this year. The punter was Zach Terry (Cheese), same punter from last year. That was a great punt & I hope to have good punts this year just not very many of them. :thumb:

FYI people that offense is TL's look back at the 08 team ist's the same stuff. he's never had an oc. he has offensive play callers. He does put complete trust in that play caller tho. he will make a call on occasion.

Yep, I remember Cowboy and saw it alot Friday! I still think Coach May will bring in some schemes from last year but that is just my opinion.

I think your right on TL. He's gonna let Coach May call the O, but I'm positive TL is gonna put his stamp on it. If your the HC, you better!

I just hope they keep a balance of pass/run. I don't think Oneida will have a dominate Offense this year, but they could put up a tremendous amount of points against most teams.

You can't spell control without a T and a L

That is funny  Brother, TL was up in some grills across the board! He does it really well though. He chews on a kid, but it's not demeaning! Straight up Good coaching!

Man, Some of my posts are stupid. Oneida's Offense averaged almost 28 points a game last season. What is a dominating offense? How many points do you want....or need?

oh well, I'm gonna be happy with seeing the boys struggle and fight to get better. :hungry:

After seeing the Tribe in the scrimmage.....I would expect the Indians to be the trendy pick to be tops in the District. They got better and better as the scrimmage wore on. Certainly look like a team on the uptick.

Yeah Man, it was looking like a train wreck in January! I think Oneida will be competitive and if the boys keep working hard over the summer and stay away from distractions, they could have a really nice season.

I'm gonna root for the team AS IS, No matter what! Having said that....I just hope we beat the brakes off Williamsburg. I really don't want to loose to a Kentucky Group ever again in anything but "Fattest Citizens" or "Dumbest Kids" or some catagory like that!

I saw some of the football boys playing on the basketball team. They are really good athletes. It is amazing how easily they switch back and fourth between the two sports.

You know Injun, that's the kicker, that's the punch in the gut!

Oneida, by far, is the most naturally agressive football team I have ever seen anywhere, Texas, California, Georgia. Just straight up take it to ya! :thumb: [Yes, the team from Huntsville would whip Oneida all over the field..yada, yada, yada.], anyway.....

Crazy how the kids compete fearlessly on the field and court. It's really cool to watch. It's what you want to see outa any team.

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
