Baylor beat us 46-14 and we beat Scottsboro 58-18.

Sorry about the seeds but we had a ton of scratches just tonight and they wouldn't have been very accurate anyway.

We are excited about the tournament this weekend. We are appreciative of all the great teams that are coming from out of town to make this tournament the nice little meatgrinder it has become.

Before things get crazy, I want to thank some people; I won't start naming names because I will succeed in leaving someone out and I don't want to do that.

I want to thank our parents, who all take initiative to make sure that the little things like concessions and shirt sales and hospitality are high quality. The folks at the head table make it possible for the coaches to be on the floor coaching kids. Parents have also pitched in to lend trucks and pick up and move mats and make the logistics of this thing run so much more smoothly.

Co-Head Coach Jimmy Miller has done all the recruitment work to get in some very competitive teams. Because of his efforts, kids on seventeen wrestling teams are going to get tested, learn, and get better this weekend.

Coach Jon Renner helps Jimmy with the bracketing and bout sheets and any other thing that occurs, especially the ones that require patience, tact, and sanity.

Coach Sandy Cody braved the elements and Pigeon Forge traffic to get the tripod clocks, and he and Coach Bill McKinney have overseen the arena setup so that Coach Miller and I could do seeding and run practice.

I am thankful to all the great teams that come and the fans they bring with them. It helps people in this part of the state see some great wrestling.

I am glad that Logan Hollingshead at Jefferson County is there trying to keep alive the ideas that made the Patriot wrestling program so good throughout the nineties, and to Justin Anderson, the teammate of Fandetti, Richardson, and Moffat for bringing his young team to compete in the tournament.

But most of all, I am thankful for Scott Fandetti, Todd Richardson, and Scott Moffat and their families. I wish the three of them were still here, but my life has been better because they were in it. I'm sure they'll look down tomorrow and be pleased, and get a kick out of all the whppins that will be given and received tomorrow.

Garrison White from Robinson High. Charlotte, NC area. Committed to wrestle at Northwestern, 2 or 3 time state champ?

Very tough wrestle that has been nationally ranked at times; also Chris Caton who wrestled Campbell Lewis in the finals has had some epic matches with Watson at the Southeastern Prep Slam. There were two outstanding tournaments this weekend, Fandetti-Richardson Brawl and the Brentwood tourney. Great to see these tournament directors bringing in such fantastic teams/wrestlers.
