Father Ryan vs. MBA

You are correct, MBA has done fairly well for their standards especially after having seen how they fared at the SE Prep Slam, but to state it bluntly, the only possible shot that the Big Red have of upsetting Ryan is if the Ingram's and Davis' pooled their money together and got Blair on the quickest chartered flight from Blairstown to Nashville. Ryan is simply way out of MBA's league this year; and if the success that NCW has had against MBA's middle school team in recent years seems to suggest that this will likely be a trend for the better part of 4-5 yrs.

The MBA vs Father Ryan wrestling match will be this Saturday night at MBA starting at 7 pm. There will be a social before hand in Frist Hall beginning at 6 pm for all the former MBA and former Father Ryan wrestlers. This is also senior night for the MBA wrestlers which will begin at 6:45 pm.

What a great idea of having the MBA/Father Ryan wrestlers from the old days meet and socialize. What a great idea. I hope it goes well.

I do not believe the match will be close as Father Ryan is very strong this year this year. Father Ryan has a strong youth group that has been building for this. However, this rivalry goes beyond everything. This is the event for these wrestlers. It should be a great dual. You never know what Coach Simpson (MBA) or coach Simpson (Ryan) has up their sleeve. These wrestlers do not care about the records or the standings, they are fighting for their team.

One thing I can guarantee.............. MBA will be manning the clock!!!!!!!!!!

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
