3rdbasecoach, you didn't listen either. Midway is a team that Coalfield has to play because they are in the same region and that's what it takes to advance. I'm not her dad or mom or anyway related to Lindsey. She doesn't need promoting by anyone, she takes care of things on the field and has done so for five years now. I'm not saying she hasn't had some off times in the past just like every other pitcher who has thrown a softball. You pick who you want, but I'll take Lindsey any day on any team and compete with the best. S (he has proven that!!!

Oh I did listen, I just didn't agree with what you had to say. As I mentioned in an earlier post (or were you not listening?) its a great accomplishment for Ms. Fadnek, but it need not need repeating day in and day out! She is a very good pitcher, but I simply stated that I thought there were better pitchers, facing better competition, winning state Champhionships against better teams. Heck, I saw one tonight that I thought was better than Fadnek, just my opinion though! Again, Congratulations until we hear from you again Friday!

3rdbasecoach, Just trying to keep the ones that are interested informed. If you are not interested in where Lindsey is at quit reading this thread. I didn't realize that keeping up with progress was repeating things over and over. Just to let you know or anyone else who wants to know, Lindsey got (16) more K's last night in the Region-2A Cahmpionship game to bring here total now to 1857.

You sound like the mommy of the girl that used to hold the record. :roflol:

Don't get me wrong, Lindsey is a great pitcher. She is one of the best in East TN if not the best. However if you look at her as an overall player, I'm not sure her stats are correct on unapproved website. I was a parent at the wartburg games. Wartburg is a team that has been terrible for years. They had a decent pitcher and a couple mediocre players but other than that they were not very good. (hopefully with the new coach this will change). Back to Lindsey though, in regular season, she was 1-8 against wartburg batting and not much better in the tournament. Looks like shes got a lot of improving to do before college comes as an overall athlete. I think she will do ok, just hope she sticks with it unlike most of the Morgan county athletes that are back home before people even realize theyre gone.

She is not going to Marshall as a hitter. She is going as pitcher.

Then why bat her in high school? Likely case at some point she will have to bat in college. :) I know she's not going to the SEC but how many pitchers in the SEC do you see that can't hit? I don't follow any other leagues but check the stats..... Also, not saying she can't hit I just think she should be a little more consistent.

Really Sticks...Lindsey is batting almost .400 with (8) homeruns and (32) RBI's I don't know what kid you have been watching but come on. Most pitchers in Division-I don't bat once they get to college. You have the extreme few but that's it. She bats in high school because her team needs her to. Like Trailhead said, she got a full ride to Marshall to pitch and that's what this topic is about.

So who's Wartburg's new coach that you mentioned?

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
