District 4-AAA

Basketball is a funny game. Sometimes a combination of things--bad calls, wierd bounces, and a shot or two not dropping come together at the wrong time and an weak team lucks its way into a win over a better team. That happened last night.

It will not happen again this season. No complacency. Nothing will be left to chance. The Lady Ads will trounce their opposition--starting with Heritage and those maroon imposters to the east next week--then all the way to The 'Boro! Maryville will destroy the macaroons next week, then in Region and travel to Johnson City to be whipped by the Lady Toppers. Lady Ads roll and rule the District and Region. They will be the ones who go on to State! Get used to it. You read it here!

The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--and Look Great While Doing It!

I hope a team from district 4 can make it to state, once you get there it's a different ball game. Look at the record of the top 5 in state, they dominate teams, no one in district 4 really dominates anyone. I thought Farragut had several D1 players on team, they must be small D1 at best .Maybe Farragut is not playing as a team, they have lost games , they should have won. I hate to say it , but I do not think it is the year for District 4 to have a chance at state. If Farragut or Bearden make it , they will not go very far. Riverdale will more than likely win state, I mean come on they have a girl going to Baylor.

Just to be clear...Bearden is the number one team in the district according to every statistic that matters...wins & losses! I feel sorry for the Lady Admirals, how can they ever live up to the LADADAD hype. Not really a Heritage fan, but I will be on Tuesday--Go Mountaineers!

I am a Heritage fan, I am hoping they can play well in the tournament, they are a better team, than what their record shows. I heard Bearden's starting point guard quit and the back up point tore her acl and a freshmen is running point, true? If this is true , that's gonna hurt Bearden in the tournament. They have good players quit every year, the Denton girl, who i remember from aau , was an outstanding player in middle school and aau. She stopped playing at Bearden and now the starting point guard quit and is rumored to be making a transfer to a school a little west of Bearden. What's up with players leaving this program at Bearden? I find it surprising, players leave a sport, they have invested so much time and money into .

Go Heritage !!

Is 4AAA tournament set up like ?

  • 1 & 2 seed have 1st round byes
  • 3 plays 8
  • 4 plays 7
  • 5 plays 6

If so, the last few games for Mary,WB,Hert, and LC are very important.

Didn't it go like this before

5 - 8

6 - 7

3 played 5/8

4 played 6/7

and 1 played 4,6/7

and 2 played 3,5/8

Then the championship

and the top 4 move on

As of 1/28/13

1. Bearden

2. Farragut

3. Maryville

4. Heritage

5. Willam Blount

6. Lenior City

7. Catholic

8. West

Norwood did not quit, she's injured. She will be missed on the court but is very much apart of the team. And to show why Bearden is the number one team in the district, they didn't skip a beat against Lenoir City on Saturday.

As for Bearden losing players....Denton is the only one to quit and she quit every team she was on. She could have been good, but we'll never know. She never stuck around one place long enough to prove herself.

Did Sue Yun-Kim not quit this year? Was she not the starting point guard? I believe Denton only quit Bearden, she played freshmen year at Farragut and finished the year, if I am not mistaken. I saw Denton play and she was good, not could have been good. Norwood was 2 guard to begin with and Kim was point, I was told Kim quit this year.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
